Sponsored by the Office of Academic Degrees Committee of Jiangsu Province and Yangzhou University, Yangzhou University Music College, ‘Bel Canto’Vocal Music Art Center of Yangzhou Music College and the Public Art Education Center of Yangzhou University held Music and Dance (Vocal Music) Postgraduate Academic Innovation Forum and International Vocal Music Academic Seminar in Jiangsu Province in 2018 on November 16-19, 2018. President Professor Jiao xin 'an and Secretary General of the National Steering Committee for the teaching of master of arts Professor Ding Fan attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Professor Zhang Meilin, Dean of Music School of Yangzhou University presided over the opening ceremony. Professor Xu Yuanyong, Dean of Music College of Nanjing Normal University, is an expert of music and dance discipline evaluation group of academic degrees committee of the State Council, One-thousand talents program outside expert Italian singer professor Paul kony, Professor Peng Kangliang from Central Music College, Professor Yu Lihong from Shanghai Music College, Professor Tao Ying from Xinghai Music College, Professor Xie Kun from Nanjing University of Art and a total of 265 people from music universities, professional art universities, comprehensive universities, normal universities, music departments and ethnic universities attended the conference.

This Forum and International Academic Vocal Music Seminar is a grand meeting of vocal music academic research and exchange initiated under the new situation of internationalization and diversification of postgraduate training. It based on colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province, art troupes, radiation Yangtze river delta and even the national graduate students, through vocal stage performing arts all-round, high-end communication and academic research, promote graduate comprehensive exchanges and cooperation in the field of vocal music study, develop with international vision and high-quality talents in the field of vocal music performing arts, and research, and service culture and art in Jiangsu province and the all-round development of social economy. 

  This forum takes ‘academic exploration and development and innovation of vocal music graduate students’ as the theme, and sets three sections of vocal music teaching, vocal music performance, and vocal music theory research. The number of participants and the number of participating institutions have reached a record high. These colleges and universities not only the central music institute, Shanghai institute of music and other domestic top-ranking music college, Nanjing art college, Guangxi college of art, such as professional art colleges and universities, and from Nanjing Normal University, Northeast Normal University affiliated normal colleges, more from the national regions of Qinghai University for nationalities, Tibet university and other colleges and universities. It received 287 papers, among which 52 papers won the excellent paper award. In addition to the sub-forum discussion and paper reading, nine academic reports and three teacher-student concerts were also arranged to present the latest research results in the field of vocal music at home and abroad from multiple perspectives.

The successful holding of the Postgraduate Innovation Forum and the International Vocal Music Academic Seminar will play a positive role in expanding the international vision of music and dance discipline of our school, improving the quality of postgraduate training and international art exchange and cooperation.
