Fine Art On Campus|School of Music, Yangzhou University Performs at Yangzhou Polytechnic Institute
Striking up the Music of the Times
On the evening of November 12, 2025, a magnificent art gala blending ethnic charm, revolutionary legacy, and the spirit of the times was presented at Yangzhou Polytechnic Institute. The faculty and students from the School of Music, Yangzhou University presented their meticulously curated program Splendid Rivers and Mountains · Ethnic Unity, offering the audience an artistic immersion that allowed the flower of fine art to bloom vibrantly across the campus.
This performance received great attention from both institutions. Distinguished guests in attendance included Qiu Qingfeng, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yangzhou University Committee, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, and Supervisory Commissioner assigned by Jiangsu Provincial Supervisory Commission; Zhang Jinlin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yangzhou Polytechnic Institute Committee; Chen Can, Secretary of the Youth League Committee; Wang Wei, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office; Lin Yingtao, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office; along with Lu Tao, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Music, Yangzhou University; Professor Zhang Meilin, Doctoral Supervisor; Shao Ping, Dean of the School of Music; Liu Fangwei, Deputy CPC Secretary; and Yao Ting,Vice Dean and Director of the Public Art Education Center. Together, they joined faculty and students in experiencing the charm of art.
The evening commenced with the passionate and grand prelude Splendid Rivers and Mountains ·Ethnic Unity, structured through four themed chapters that formed a coherent artistic narrative.


Chapter I: Passing the Torch · Revolutionary Memories vividly recalled past struggles and carried forward the revolutionary spirit through the pipa and baboo flute ensemble Present Me with a Rose, the expressive vocal performance March Peach Blossoms Bloom in My Heart, and the powerful guzheng ensemble The Yellow River.



Chapter II: Echoes of the Silk Road · Fusion of Civilizations guided the audience along the ancient trade routes with the dance Dreaming of Shade Under the Grain, the Chinese Orchestra New Whispers of Dunhuang, and the rhythmic, driving erhu ensemble New Horse Race, evoking the inclusive nature of Chinese civilization.


Chapter III: Ode to Our Times · Voice of the People focused on the pulse of the era and public sentiment, expressing profound love for the Party and the motherland through the heartfelt solo Dedicating Everything to the Party, the performance song A Hundred Years, and the guzheng ensemble Green Breeze.



Chapter IV: Forging Ahead Together · Building a Brilliant Future brought the performance to a climax. The female solo Love for the Motherland, the male solo The Motherland, Our Kind Mother, and the finale, a male-female duet China in the Street Lights, progressively demonstrated the firm belief of all ethnic groups in jointly striving for the Chinese Dream.

Artists including Dean Shao Ping, Professor Zhang Meilin from the School of Music performed on stage alongside outstanding student representatives. The exquisite performances by the University Dance Troupe, the Chinese Folk Music Ensemble, and Guzheng Ensemble delivered exceptional performances fully demonstrated the School of Music’s profound academic foundation and professional artistic standards.

This Fine Art on Campus event was not merely an artistic feast but also a profound cultural exchange and spiritual experience. Through the brilliant performances by the faculty and students from the Yangzhou University's School of Music, teachers and students of Yangzhou Polytechnic Institute experienced the unique charm of fine art up close. Immersed in the blend of revolutionary, ethnic, and contemporary culture, their artistic appreciation and cultural confidence were further enhanced, adding a vibrant chapter to campus cultural development.
